Mr. Picciarelli retired from the New York City Police Department in 1988. He launched Condor Security & Investigations, Inc. upon leaving the department, taking with him over twenty years of experience and enumerable contacts worldwide in the law enforcement, intelligence and military communities. Prior to his career in law enforcement, he served as a combat machine gunner in Vietnam. He is a certified polygraphist, qualified with both the analog and Axciton computerized polygraph, and has administered over 10,000 examinations. He holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and an additional Master of Arts degree in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. He is an adjunct professor in Seton Hill University's graduate program in Writing Popular Fiction and California University's undergraduate program in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Picciarelli has appeared on numerous television programs as an expert commentator on subjects related to security and investigations. He is often called upon by various news organizations to lend expertise to stories relating to his field. He is the author of several crime fiction and nonfiction books as well as numerous short stories and magazine articles (see www.pi-scribe.com) and has written and sold a screenplay based on one of his books.
